My First Rambling

I just finished watching part four of a Frontline special tackling the future of news media. I realize now that not only do I need to start a content blog to augment my video blog, but it's now a moral imperative.

This first entry is more of a preview than pure content, more a mission statement than policy.

I am of the belief, naive as it may be, that politics doesn't have to be boring, or cumbersome or relevant for the very few. Frankly, in my eyes, it is relevant to all of us. It's just that too many of us choose to ignore it because we either feel powerless or unrepresented. We are powerless and unrepresented only if we choose to be. I feel most folks don't understand that part.

As I look back on the Frontline special that details the future of news gathering and sets it up as belonging to the people, not corporations, that should be the same way we look at politics. If we feel disenfranchised, all that means is that we must get into the game ourselves. And, I believe the first step is to get informed.

I for one will be doing my part on my new website, www.politicalinsight.net It's a small step, but it's still a step in the right direction. Please let me know where you stand.
